The 13 audiocassettes contain student papers on the string band tradition; comments from Alan Jabbour, former director of the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress, and Phil Vandermeer, Music Librarian at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; a panel discussion on Charlie Poole and the North Carolina Ramblers with Hank Sapoznik and Kinney Rorrer; and concerts, including one by the New North Carolina Ramblers.
